We are very excited and are off to a fantastic start! The students have made a huge amount of progress this year. They have been working very hard in preparation for the performances, which will take place in the Barber Middle School Auditorium on both nights. We
are very proud of all of our Bands. Their hard work will definitely show on the night of the concert.
The concert attire for the 7th and 8th graders is their concert tuxes or dresses. These will be delivered to the students shortly. For the 6th graders, please have them dressed in their “Sunday Best” for the concert. They are allowed to wear Santa caps, antlers, or elf hats if they would like.
We are very excited for this Concert and look forward to their performance and meeting with many of you! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time and your advocacy in our program.

Barber Middle School and Acworth Intermediate School have just completed a year-long study of School-Based Health Centers. We are exploring the possibility of developing our own center to serve the students in our two schools. Through a generous Urban Healthcare Planning Grant of $10,000.00, we have formed a
steering committee of parents, community leaders, district representatives, and healthcare professionals to make some preliminary projections. We have also formed a budget committee and strong partnerships with United Way, WellStar Health Systems and Northside Psychological Services to look at sources of funding to start and sustain a clinic that will meet our needs. A school-based clinic will NOT be an added cost to the school district.
One CRITICAL piece in our planning is to get YOUR FEEDBACK! We want ALL parent and staff members from Acworth Intermediate and Barber Middle School to give us your feedback by completing the survey below. The survey will
be available until the end of Conference Week (October 25, 2013).
